Nazar Utarne Ki Dua – Arabic Text, Meaning, and Method

Evil eye known in Urdu as Nazar is a reality confirmed in Islam. It is not superstition. Rasoolullah ﷺ said clearly:

When someone looks at a person, child, or possession with excessive admiration even without bad intention it can cause harm. This is why Islam has given us specific supplications and a practical method to remove the effects of the evil eye.

Transliteration: Qul a’udhu bi Rabbil-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffathati fil-‘uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.

Meaning: “Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak from the evil of what He has created, from the evil of the darkening night when it settles, from the evil of those who blow on knots, and from the evil of the envier when he envies.”

Surah An-Naas

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ﴿١﴾ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ﴿٢﴾ إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ﴿٣﴾ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ﴿٤﴾ الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ﴿٥﴾ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ﴿٦﴾

Transliteration: Qul a’udhu bi Rabbin-naas. Malikin-naas. Ilaahin-naas. Min sharril-waswasil-khannaas. Alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudoorin-naas. Minal-jinnati wan-naas.

Meaning: “Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind the King of mankind, the God of mankind from the evil of the retreating whisperer who whispers in the hearts of mankind, from among jinn and mankind.”

Nazar Utarne Ki Dua – From Authentic Hadith

Dua 3 – Ayatul Kursi for Daily Protection

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ…

Transliteration: Allahu la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom, la ta’khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm…

Rasoolullah ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death.”

Balo Ki Nazar Utarne Ki Dua

Hair can also be affected by the evil eye particularly when someone’s hair is thick, long, or visibly beautiful. In such cases, Balo Ki Nazar Utarne Ki Dua should be recited.

Arabic Text:

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ فِيهِ

Transliteration: Allahumma barik feeh.

Meaning: “O Allah, place blessing in it.”

Method: When someone admires another person’s hair, they should say “Masha Allah” or “Allahumma Barik” immediately. Complimenting without this acknowledgment of Allah’s blessing can become a cause of the evil eye even unintentionally.
